Paul Baik was born with two hands, two feet, and a pair of eyes with an ordinary Asian complexion.  There was really nothing extraordinary about him except someone noticed a camera attached to his little hands right after birth.  Really…this happened…okay the truth is there was no camera attached to his hands but Paul loved cameras starting with his first camera he received, on someone else's birthday, when he was five years old.  It was a Polaroid camera.

Many years later Paul attended Ryerson University to study photography which he eventually earned a Bachelor's degree in Fine Art.

Paul is a Toronto based photographer who specializes in himself. It has nothing to do with ego, so he says, but everything to do with exploring oneself through an unforgiving lens attached to a leviathan constructed from cold steel and melted sand which we call a camera.

Presently he continues to photograph portraits not of himself but of others.  Paul likes to dress them up and let them role play for a while before he immortalizes them with his lens.
